SEO - How to Get A Top Ranking in Google

It’s a dream come true for a webmasters site to appear at the top of Google’s search results, especially if the website is actually selling a product or service. In a competitive industry this would mean that the orders would start rolling in with such a force that the business would grow incredibly quickly. Is it all just a dream? NO!
I’ve done it for hundreds of businesses and you can do it for yourself too.

The first and foremost task when trying to get your site to the top of Google is to start link building, not just any old link building but having your keywords included in your “anchor”. Anchor links are when the links are actually clickable, if for example you were selling green buttons the link would not be a www link. It would actually say “green buttons”.

The next step is choosing the correct keyword phrases for your site. Now most people want to be on the first page of Google for a one word phrase like “Buttons”. However, if you only sold buttons made of silver, it would be bringing you the wrong type of customer. It would be best to choose keyword phrases like “Silver Buttons” or “Buttons made of Silver”. This would bring you the right type of customer and it your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) efforts would show results a lot quicker.

Integrate the keyword phrases throughout your site with your best ones on your homepage. Without the keywords on your site, your site will not perform at all.

The next step is to actually go out and get some back links to your site, be smart about whom you get links from, as websites that are relevant to your industry will have far more weight when it comes to giving you good results. Getting a few powerful links with a page rank of 6 or 7 will give you almost immediate results and I have personally seen websites make it onto the first page within a couple of days.

SEO - Google's Sandbox is a Myth

The “Google Sandbox” argument has been around for a very long time; it is much loved and loathed by many people trying to do Search Engine Optimisation.
The truth of the matter is Google’s Sandbox does not exist.
People doing SEO who refer back to the “sandbox” as a reason for websites not performing as they should are either naive or are dishonest.

I have recently tested the alleged “sandbox” theory on a number of sites and at every hurdle the sandbox theory failed.
In one particular test I registered a car insurance domain and slapped up a bunch of content. Now, anyone who has been in SEO circles for any amount of time will tell you that car insurance is a highly competitive industry and Google would have most certainly “sandboxed” the site.
However, four months later, the site is on the first page of Google’s search results for a highly competitive search term.
The site is also moving very quickly on an ultra competitive search term that should appear on the first page within a month or two.

Search Engine Optimisers who believe in the sandbox theory all too often blame their own poor performance for why the website is not ranking highly on Google.
Getting a site’s on-page optimisation right as well as building a sufficient quantity of relevant backlinks will get any site to rank well.

Google’s search algorithm can detect if a site has been selling links, this obviously will nullify the effect of the link.
Therefore, if you buy a whole lot of links, there is a chance that the majority of the links will not be passing page rank to your site and the links will probably be wasted.
Google’s also algorithm detects a number of other techniques that search engine spammers use to manipulate the results.

If you want to create a website that performs well in Google’s search engine results, create a site with lots of quality content and get relevant sites with a high page rank to back link to your site. It’s that easy.

SEO - Quick Tips for Instant Results

People ask me on a daily basis how to do a couple of quick fixes which will make their site appear higher in the search results. The type of people that ask me are usually people who have been doing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) themselves but have not had any great success. This article is for people just starting to do SEO or for people who have been doing it for a long time. The tips are easy to implement and anyone who knows a bit about HTML and SEO will be able make the changes easily.

This article will out line a number of “Quick Fixes” which will make your site move up the search results almost immediately.

1) Use H1, H2, H3 tags in your content with your keywords appearing in them.
2) Use Alt Tags in your website; make sure that they include your keywords too.
3) Create fresh content as frequently as possible.
4) Don’t let your keyword density exceed 15%.
5) Make sure you don’t have a slow loading site.
6) No duplicate content, always keep your text original.
7) Make sure your navigation is text based and your site is easy to navigate
8) Have many RELEVANT backlinks to your website.
9) Backlinks should include anchor text that is varied.
10) Don’t link to banned sites or “bad neighbourhoods”
11) Don’t use too much script, make sure your site is content rich.
12) Don’t ever use Frames or Flash.

These tips are suggested for websites that are established already and have some history. New sites should be optimised as they are build and as they are new it will take a while for the search engines to show them in their results. Therefore, any changes made will not have any effect on a new site with no history or backlinks.

It requires great patience to do SEO effectively; the most important factor in SEO is building a good number of backlinks to your site. The backlinks should be from many different sources and be related to your industry in some why. Also, use your keywords in your anchor text – this will make a huge difference.

10 Easy Tips to Consider in Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

1. Keyword being the weapon of your success in SEO, use those keywords that are directly related or targeted to your business theme.

2. Take care not to over-crowd your site’s content with keywords and use keywords throughout the content instead of concentrating it at the beginning or at the end.

3. Back-link or inbound link is important, so build links with potential partners that can generate profit to your site.

4. Choose good title and Meta tags- Good title makes good move on page optimization, and suitable, targeted, theme based, precise keywords and phrases in Meta tags help spiders find your web pages more easily.

5. Design your site that clearly represent your business and make an easy navigation based on your keyword research.

6. Make web pages that are easy to load. Don’t make pages with large images, if images are necessary; make a thumbnail of it and link it with full image page so that you can add more pages and text in it which spiders love to crawl.

7. Make your web pages content rich with keywords and phrases that hit your business. Add more contents that give precise information about your services and products.

8. Offer something unique than general contents to spice-up your website i.e. add more articles at least one per month and update your contents regularly and add new resources.

9. Add more content to your website but never make it duplicate by copying other’s work. Duplicate content is easily detected by search engine and make your website unqualified for ranking and kicked it off completely from search engine.

10. Take advice of trusted advisor or Search Engine Optimization Company for site optimization and marketing your website rather being duped by false promise makers.

SEO - Why Link Building Is Your Biggest Mistake

When a business owner decides to bring their business to the web, generally the last thing that they think about is search engine optimization. They assume that whomever they hire to do their web design will put up a site and then submit it to the search engines and the traffic will magically pour in. Unfortunately it takes more than that to drive search engine traffic to your site, and even more unfortunately most developers don't program with SEO in mind, nor do they educate the client about the process involved in gaining traffic from search engines.

Whether it's carelessness or a lack of knowledge, or a combination of the two, this often leads to a client that several months down the road doesn't understand why their site doesn't get any traffic and isn't helping their business. A good designer will not only program with SEO in mind, but will also educate the client about the basic principles of SEO, whether they are the one who executes it or not.

Many times the clients I inherit have gone through this scenario and then face drastic on-site changes to get their site search engine friendly before we are even able to begin the arduous process of link building. Whether you are designing a site for yourself or for a client, following the simple steps below when programming will ultimately save the business time and money and result in a search engine friendly site that truly maximizes the online potential of the business.

Use proper tags for headings, bold text, italic text, and lists – HTML has heading tags, bold tags, italic tags, and ordered and unordered lists for a reason and you should use them. Using CSS you can practically style them however you like, but actually using a heading tag for your headings, and bold tags for important text, will help allow search engines understand what text on a page is a heading or what is more important than the surrounding text. Simply applying a CSS style that makes text larger or bold doesn't do that.

Optimize your images – search engine spiders can't read text within an image. Adding ALT text to your image tag helps, but ideally you should remove all wording from the image and style it using CSS, adding the remaining portion of the image as a background image to the text. Here is a side-by-side comparison of two images that look the same in your browser, but much different to a search engine spider.

Avoid canonical problems – believe it or not, search engines can see http://yoursite.com, http://www.yoursite.com, and http://www.yoursite.com/index.html as three different pages. A simple solution is to use a 301 redirect to point all of your pages to their “www” counterpart. You can also select the preferred domain that Google shows in the new Google Webmaster Tools console.

Get rid of Session IDs if you have a PHP site – have you ever seen a PHPSESSID variable added to the end a URL on a PHP page (it looks something like PHPSESSID=34908908)? This happens because PHP will add a unique PHPSESSID to URLs within your site if cookies aren't available. This can be extremely problematic for your site's search engine ranking. Google and Yahoo will see a unique PHPSESSID in the URL every time they visit a page on your site, and in turn think that said page is a different page each time. At worst, this could be viewed as duplicate content and get your site banned, and at best it will reduce the perceived value of each page. One solution that I've used successfully is to utilize url_rewriter.tags.

Put CSS and JavaScript in external files – nearly every site nowadays uses CSS and JavaScript for something. While both are great for enhancing user experience, neither will help your search engine ranking if left on your page. One of the factors that search engines consider when ranking your site is the percentage of code relevant to the search term. CSS and JavaScript can take up hundreds of lines of code, minimizing the importance of your text and in turn hurting your ranking. By putting them in separate files and simply including them in your page by reference, you can reduce hundreds of lines down to one and increase the amount of code in the file that is relevant content.

Minimize the use of tables in layouts – the debate about whether or not tables should be used in site design has been going on for years and there's no end in site. I fall somewhere in the middle – there are certain circumstances (like organizing tabular data) where I think tables still make the most sense, but I also appreciate the SEO benefits of using CSS layouts. CSS layouts drastically reduce the amount of code in your site that isn't content that the user sees. Just like moving CSS and JavaScript to an external file, the less on-page code that isn't content, the better. Check out search engine friendly layouts for some free example layouts.

Validate your site – a site doesn't have to be perfectly coded to rank high in the search engines (there are many, many other factors), but valid HTML will help ensure that search engines and browsers alike will accurately see your page. Try using the official W3C Validator or install this handy Firefox extension. Validating generally identifies areas of code that are redundant, unnecessary, or not accepted across all browsers. All of which will help make your site more search engine friendly.

SEO - Get Your Website on the First Page in One Week

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is something of a black art, many people know about it but many people don’t know exactly how to do it.
Performing SEO quickly and doing it well enough so that a site appears on the first page of the search results are very important when it comes to a sites success.

The most important aspect and the easiest way of getting a site up the rankings very quickly is by having keywords in the URL.
Should you register a new domain, try and get one with the keywords included.
I noticed a great SEO domain was up for grabs, so I registered it, built the site and within 4 days it was on the first page in position 6 in Google.

The Second most important aspect in quick SEO is keeping your keywords in your sub pages. If you had a site that sold wheelchairs you should have the word “Wheelchairs” in the name of your sub pages.
This will help your site rank a lot faster.

The Third most important aspect is having your home page content displaying your keyword phrases. I would suggest having your keyword phrases repeated on your home page at least ten times thoughout your copy.

The next important aspect is building links with your keywords in the anchor text. Have about three variations here. I once had a client and actually did not do ANY changes to his site. All I did was build hundreds of links from articles with his keywords in his anchor text. Within a matter of weeks he was on the first page of Google for a number of keywords.

Lastly, the age of your domain counts for a lot. If you have an aged domain that is over 2 years old you stand a chance of getting onto the first page of the search results within a week if you work hard at it and build links with your keywords in the anchor text.

Search engine optimization tools are a set of tricks, which have been deemed necessary to drive revenue through an online business. Search engine optimization (SEO) definitely has to be on the agenda of any successful Webmaster, simply because the usage pattern of World Wide Web users are changing.

The use of search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista etc. as the preferred way to search for the relevant WebPages is growing by the day. That’s why if your website is not being indexed by the search engines, then you simply cant direct traffic to your website. Moreover, this lack of visibility on the search engines would ensure that your online business doesn’t provide you the expected dividends.

The principle search engine optimization techniques are:

· Keyword management: optimum keyword density and correct keyword placement in the content is of paramount importance.

· Use of Tags: Unique tagging of all the pages, which includes Title tags, Meta tags etc.

· Link building: Having reciprocal links with other relevant websites is important too. More the links, higher is the websites ranking.

· Content management: The content on the website is also of prime relevance. Search engines definitely rank a web page higher, which has relevant content. Furthermore, the content should be properly optimized with due emphasis on keyword density.

The proper application of these search engine optimization techniques would for sure ensure that you get highly targeted traffic to your website, which in turn would ensure that your online business is a definitive success.

SEO ELITE ? Before you buy it KNOW WHAT YOUR ARE INVESTING FOR!

SEO Elite can be quite an interesting tool for anyone who wishes to optimise their website as high as possible on the search engines.

Users will apparently realise that the best of this software is not its claims of being listed in google in a day, but is actually more of its automated analyser that gain much links as possible.

Quickly find, email, and get 1000's of hidden, high page rank websites with jus a few clicks of the button, that's what this program is waving about.

The program is great at analysing competitors ranking tricks. I personally use this feature a couple times to really outrank websites.

Getting backlinks fast is the second feature that is in command for this program. With an automated e-mail to all the high ranking sites, It gives you at least 5 dozen or so return mails with backlinks.

However, back to getting listed in google in 24 hours, If you actually manage to do that, you sure have luck by your site because the program gives you 2 options, get a PR7 link to link back to your site (and that's almost impossible) or BUY LINKS!

Overall, the best SEO optimising software. Optilink and many per-feature programs like backlink analyser and tattler do not come clase to its all-in-one program.

It does gives you plenty of ability to fully jump your page rankings. 8 out of 10 times my websites went to the top 10 at least of google's index.

Here are my ratings:

Newbie learning curve: 9/10 (The manual is a no-brainer)
Analysing feature: 9/10 (1 goes to co-citation data, they do not have it)
Backlinks Optimizer: 7/10 (3 goes to the time it takes to gain ranks)
Overall: 8/10 (worth the money spent on buying it)

Search Engine Marketing Can Make You Really Popular On the Web

Is your site successful on the web? Not so sure? Well the best thing that you can do for finding out if your site is successful or not is to check out the search engine marketing strategy that you are using for promoting your site. Yes, it is the search engine marketing strategy that determines if your site will be a success or fade to oblivion on the web. Everything is in your hand, success or failure. You have to choose where you want to see your online business site on the web.

The first thing needed for a successful search engine marketing strategy is to conduct proper research and find out the present status of the market in which you want to sell your goods and services. Yes, you can have the most amazing ideas, but it will be of no use if you do not have a prior and proper knowledge about the market where you want to do business. After you have had a proper idea about the present market standings, you can actually decide what to do.

Decide what your target audience is. If you do not identify your target audience you can encounter lots of problem. Suppose you are selling clothes and other stuff for teenage kids and you end up using publicity methods for your product that have very remote chances of ever reaching the teenage kids. Your whole effort will go waste resulting in the losses of money, manpower, time and other resources. So be specific about which your target audience is and design all the publicity methods revolving in and around that.

The online site is the face of your business that you are putting up for your audience. Undoubtedly you will have to put up your best face to attract customer's attention and also the attention of search engines. You will have to go out and tell everyone that you have arrived at the scene with a big bang. So what better way to do this then search engine marketing? The main idea behind search engine marketing is to promote your site on the web in all the major search engines.

Most people use internet to find any information. Search engine is the source that is used as a tool for finding out the information on the web. Each and every search engine marketing strategy must basically aim at reaching out to maximum number of people at a time without too much of an effort. Make sure that the online site that you have in place is up and running at all times. You site must also be easily accessible to all online visitors.

The look and the content of your site is one of the crucial factors in determining if customers will, buy wares from your business site or not. Try to include all the product details and make the information as attractive as possible. Customers will simply love to come back to your site again and gain if they find what they are looking for. They just do not need to look anywhere if they find their requirements in your online business site.

SEO and Search Engines - A Love-Hate Relationship

Lets take a moment to ponder search engine optimization. Blue Monkey Media SEO point of view. While doing research on the other options for web design firms in Minnesota and North Dakota, my feelings towards BMMI's originality were reinforced. I pose this question to potential webdesign clients. What has more value? A baked potato that one million starving people are looking at or a shrimp dinner that is locked in a safe. It is a silly question, but it does drive the point home. It does not matter if you have the best design on the planet. If people cannot find it on the search engines, it does not exist!

Dozens of clients with whom I have spoken initally stated that they just wanted a brochure website. Then, after a bit of conversation, they reveal that they also want to be found by search engines. Well, as you probably guessed, two pages of text on the internet are rarely found.

Photographers are famous for building websites that are as pretty as a picture, but their sites contain nothing but pictures. They use flash, animated graphics, copyright protection schemes, and all sorts of search engine baffling techniques. I once talked to a popular commercial photographer who was afraid that if he was found, too many little people would telephone him. What exactly are "little people?" To my shame, I eventually gave up on him. My answer for him is: little people know big people. Research tells us that, as of 2001, 98% of all well-to-do people had access to and used the internet; whereas, only 65% of the not-so-well-to-do used the internet.

I do not believe that becoming wealthy is a matter of luck. It comes through hard work and executing a plan. Planning is intrinsic to research, and when it comes to research, the internet is the best place to start. On the other side of that spectrum is the low income internet user. This group, in general, replaces research with entertainment. Let us remember that this is a generalization and there are many exceptions to these rules.

In talking to one of our clients who sells home constuction products, I learned of an interesting statistic: in the midwest, most building takes place in spring, summer, and fall. Many people begin researching products late in the winter, prior to their spring projects. However, this client's busiest time of the year is late fall. The Blue Monkey web design staff is constantly working at amaking search engine placement obtainable for the average midwestern business. By implementing user-editable websites, we are empowering our clientele to command their own search engine placement.

I have seen countless sites get decent engine placement shortly after being launched. They would hold their standing for a short time, but then the websites would go unchanged for months and then years, eventually passing on to the stale website graveyard. Many businesses think that a website is similar to a main street billboard: put it up and they will come. What they fail to consider is that there are a million or more billboards right next to them.

The internet is content driven. A good, information-rich website is an excellent start. The next step is to change that website frequently. The search engines only want to give the most applicable information to the internet user. Our Blue Monkey web designs will allow you to make those changes efficiently and frequently without investing continuously to have our staff update for you.

RSS

To uninformed Internet users, RSS may seem to be a set of letters that could scare them away. But it doesn't.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It could also mean Rich Site Summary or RDF Site Summary that allows Internet users to send information through "feeds" that show up either in an RSS reader or other e-mail programs.

The RSS is also known as web feed formats in XML (also known as extensible markup language, which lets users identify information more accurately and flexibly) and is commonly used for web syndication.

Through the RSS, users can receive new content and allow them to easily subscribe to the latest contents of the website you're interested in. By doing so, users will be able to control the rate and volume of data that they will receive online. That way, people who use the Internet on a regular basis can do away with problems related to heavy usage, like gathering and distributing news, and increasing site traffic.

Using RSS also lets you save time because you no longer need to visit the sites of your choice individually. And what's more, your privacy is ensured because you don't have to sign up for the newsletters being offered by your favorite sites.

History

It was UserLand which first used RSS in 1997. Other Internet giants like Netscape followed shortly after.

But before RSS was fully developed, other similar forms -- like Backweb and Pointcast -- of syndication already existed. However, none of these were able to attain the popularity RSS is enjoying now because most of them were designed to work for only a single service.

RSS' first version -- the RDF Site Summary of RSS 0.9 -- was created by Netscape's Dan Libby in March 1999 for the My Netscape portal. This was modified four months later to incorporate suggestions from users.

However, Netscape lost interest in the RSS/XML at a time when its use became widespread. This abandonment of some sorts prompted various users to set up a working group and mailing list just to keep the usage of RSS going. Since then, several modifications have been introduced to make RSS better.

How it works

To make RSS work, a website owner maintains a standard list of notifications, commonly called the RSS Feed, on their site.

The RSS Feed allows users interested on the particular site to find out what's new or what have been changed by simply checking out the list. One can then automatically access the list and have it organized with the help of special computer programs known as the RSS aggregators.

The next thing you need to do is to start producing an RSS feed, a feature now commonly provided in websites especially of major news organizations.

Once you have an RSS feed, it's already very easy to provide the basic information -- all arranged chronologically -- that your frequent website visitors would need.

The items found on the list contain a title that would describe the item, a detailed description and a link to the web page that contains the actual information you initially stated. There are times, however, that the detailed description is already the actual information of the website.

Why RSS?

When frequent visitors to your website know you are using RSS feeds, it gives them a sense of security knowing that you are concerned about their privacy.

This is made possible by the RSS' incorruptible opt-in feature, where consumers are always given the last say on whether they want to subscribe to a specific RSS feed.

Another good thing about RSS feeds is that it allows you to save time in doing online marketing, in the same way that new technology does for both marketers and consumers. This is the case especially when coming up with a subject line for the feed. It has to be worded in such a way that it would catch the attention of your users.

Finally, the good thing about RSS feeds is that they are measurable, in different ways, though, in the same manner that there are different ways of telling whether an e-mail has been read or not.

Learn To Do Effective SEO in Less Than 350 Words

Learning to do Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is one of the easiest skills to learn when it comes to web marketing.
Virtually anyone who can do a bit of HTML programming can learn to do SEO.

SEO is split into two separate categories: The first is on-page optimisation; the second is off-page optimisation.
On-page optimisation is what you do to your site to make it rank better and off-page optimisation is link building.

We’ll start with on-page optimisation:

The first step is to find relevant keywords for your website; these keywords are relevant to your business. For example: If you had a printing business you would select keywords like: Colour Printing, Book Printing, Printing Books in the USA etc.

The next step is to integrate these keywords into your website copy; I would suggest choosing 2 – 3 keywords and repeating them 4 or 5 times each throughout your home page copy. Try and have the rest of your keywords repeated in your copy at least once.
Also, have your keywords in the title tag, Meta Tags, H1, H2, H3 tags and the ALT tags.
Try and have a good number of content rich pages, I would suggest at least 10. These pages must have the keywords scattered though-out the copy.

The second part is off-page optimisation. This is by far the most important part of getting your website to the top of the Search Engines.
Off page optimisation involves link building, this is the hard part.

You can get links in a number of ways, I will put a * next to the ones that I think are most important.

- Buy Links
- Ask people for links, either by phone or email
- Write Articles
- Write Press Releases
- Register with Powerful Internet Directories *
- Get people to Blog about your Site (Link Baiting / Viral Marketing) *

I will cover the basics of link building.
Firstly, register with a number of internet directories, EG: Yahoo and business(dot)com.
Write a few articles and distribute them around the powerful article directories.
There are a number of places where you can pay people to blog about your site, use them to start a viral marketing campaign. Do get them to include a link back to your site!

Following this advice will give you a massive SEO boost and you should see good gains within a number of months.

How to Make Your Site Successful Without Doing SEO

Many people believe in the premise of: “Build it and they will come”. Well, this is totally untrue when it comes to the internet.
Just building a brush strokes website and then hosting your site will not bring visitors to your site, nor will it bring any sales.

The biggest and best tip to developing a successful website is content, search engines love it. Without content your website is doomed to failure before it even starts.
Your website also has to include your keywords for which you would like your site to rank.

Example: If you owned a printing site, your keyword selection would be: Colour printing, Colour Book Printing, Colour Brochure Printing in Texas

Your site should have many keywords spread naturally though-out your content.
Choose 3 – 4 of the most competitive keywords you would like to rank for and have them on your home page. Repeat them 4 -5 times each, at least. I have seen keywords repeated on successful websites over twenty times.
I suggest you choose between 50 – 100 keywords searches altogether and have those repeated throughout your home page copy too.

Your site should also have at least ten pages of content rich copy; successful sites have thousands of pages that are rich with good information.
You need to update your site as frequently as possible, if your site is news based you need to update it as soon as a new story breaks, this will keep your site fresh and will keep website visitors loyal to you and your site.

The best tip I can pass on is building good link worthy content, what I mean by that is information that people will want to link to. It may be that you can offer good information on your site or your site has useful tools that may be handy to people in the industry.

You then need to promote your site, this is usually the tricky part but if your site is full of useful information it should be no trouble at all.
Write a number of press releases, Write Articles and post them in major article directories. Do a bit of offline campaigning – once your fantastic site has some momentum your site will be a success.

Nice website, shame no-one can find it!

Have you paid lots of money for a cool website design? Is your site looking all flashy and professional? Has it got cool a cool flash intro with lots of images? Have you spent lots of money developing a new site only to realise that you’re not getting any extra hits or business. It is hardly surprising with the amount of websites on the internet; this number could be in the region of 300 billion. So it is hardly surprising when you do a search on Google for something and you get thousands of results and you spend ages looking through the sites.

So how can you get your site to come up on the first page on Google?

Well for a start this takes time which is why some businesses pay for an SEO to do the work for you but it can be done yourself. There are a few points to remember and you can’t really go wrong. The first thing to remember is that Google searches for the key words in the body of the text, so you you want people to find a ‘baby’s travel cot’ your site better have those words written clearly on the home page a few times and also in the title. Also people tend to like to have flashy button effects but Google doe’s not recognise them so even if you have used the keys words in the flash, Google won’t find them. Links to the other pages in your site needs to be straight forward text written hyperlinks.

As for flash intro’s, big mistake, it may look nice but it does absolutely nothing to help your site, in fact the flash is not recognised by the search engines at all. Search engines like clear hyperlinks using the keywords. Unique relevant text is also the key to scoring high.

Heard of page ranking? What is it? Well basically PageRank is a “vote”, by all the other pages on the Web. So if your site’s address or hyperlink is on another site which has a good authority (lots of important in links from good rated sites) then this gives weight to your site. Adding your site to many different sites is very important to improve PageRank.

Writing articles like this is good, and submitting them to relevant categories in article directories like articlealley.com helps give a lot of weight as long as the article sites are ranked high themselves. Google have a toolbar which shows the ranking of each page, if the rank is high then it would be useful to have a link to your site on there. But any sites that take you link will help.

Search Engine Optimization for Affiliate Marketers

There are no secrets on how to rank high with the major search engines because effective search engine optimizations are now immense. What is search engine optimization? Before we discuss that thing, you have to understand first how search engines work and a bit of know-how.

Search engines are into providing their users with the most relevant and up-to-date information to match the search term that was used. They are sophisticated pieces of technology which allow users to quickly find relevant websites by searching for a word or a phrase. Search engine results are useless to users if the information doesn't relate to the search term, or if the results are old. People expect the most up-to-date and fresh information that is useful to them.

Updating your website everyday and adding some materials will help you get noticed by the search engines. So, if you are going to sell any type of product or service online, you have to optimize your website for the search engines, in order to boost traffic and sales. It is because over 90% of your business will likely come directly from search engine results. And for that reason, it is absolutely important to optimize your site for search engines for you to have the greatest deals in the entire world.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process by which webmasters or online business owners utilize strategic copy to augment their website's status. It is certain that the internet has grown so fast over the years and the competition for the best search engine position has created an enormous market. Therefore, better understanding the fundamental elements of Search Engine Optimization is vital for an online business' success.

Making use of effective search engine optimization techniques will improve the page rank of your website. There are many tricks that can be used to increase page rank; the most effective method is to provide high quality content consistently. This seems like a simple concept but there are many websites that fails to provide content that visitors find interesting. Sites which provide content that are interesting, well-written and regularly updated create highly engaged visitors who are more likely to return to the website in the coming days. So, if you can set your website apart from those boring, lifeless sites then do it. You'll surely have a step closer to achieving high page rank through search engine optimization.

The next significant factor for an effective search engine optimization is to include keywords and phrases within your content. To make sure that you are properly targeting your market, you have to make sure that the keywords and phrases you have on your site are the keywords and phrases that your site is actually optimized for. The more keywords you use in your content, the more likely it is that online visitors will find your site when they do some research with those words. If you are unfailing with these techniques, then your overall search engine optimization will increase, boosting your page rank.

You should also have to develop a linking strategy as a part of your search engine optimization. Not only does this provide free advertising for your site, but it makes the impression that your site is imperative because of its affiliated links. For each link that you have pointing back to you, that is another chance for your potential customer to find you. The more inbound links that you have pointing to your site, the higher you will be ranked in the search engines.

Another is to develop a content stratagem. People who get to search from the internet are looking for information. The more information you provide for them and the more helpful it is, the more likely you will make the sale. Writing articles is the most effective way to build up content for your site. When writing articles to post on your site, make sure that you develop a clear means of arranging their content. You can do this by simply adding a new page to your site. This will allow room for extra articles to be added as you write them, and will allow you to build up an archive of articles which will maintain to draw online visitors. Make sure also that you have included your archived articles in a directory that is next to the root web of your site so that the search engines will catalog your online articles.

Always keep in mind that search engine optimization methods are important in developing your site's status. With that thing in mind, make sure that you write high-quality, keyword rich content and link your site to and from a deliberate family of other sites. These things will help improve your site's popularity and coerce increased business through your online business.

Getting professional web design right.

All businesses want a great web site, but few are willing to pay for an expertly designed site. Personal websites where you just want to show your friends your pictures or share your stories, a basic static website is a great idea, but you will get little traffic, and you will also have to tell your friends the name of the site. The internet is great for sharing pictures files etc and for personal fun sites a professional website is not necessary.

Businesses on the other hand want a site that attracts visitors and brings them back again and again, and hopefully buying their services or products. Only a professional well designed website will bring the visitors in, and even then it may not due to the amount of competition on the web. A website needs to stand out from the crowd and also there is the question of optimisation; does it come up on the first page off Google when doing a relevant search? Unless the site is professionally designed with Google friendly relevant content and the site is listed on many other relevant sites then very few people will find it. So what is the point in wasting money on domain registration, web design and hosting only to find out that the site is not bringing in any extra business. Basically the site is useless and a waste of money and you may have wondered why you bothered!

Getting it right is the trick and there are lots of people offering to do this but are they really interested in helping you and your site do well? Or are they just lining their pocket? It is tricky to know if your website designer has your best interests at heart and whether they have the professionalism build the site well.

So what makes a good website design?

• Focused home page with clear readable text
• Pleasant to the eye, minimum colours – not multi coloured
• Clear navigation buttons and links
• Consistent relevant pages
• Pages that download quickly

This is just a few simple pointers but the best way is to pay a professionally web designer to do all this for you.

If you want your site to bring you business then it is worth paying a little bit more for a professional designed site by knowledgeable people. BlueStreamDesign.com is run by a competent company who know what they are talking about. A lot of companies seem to think they know what they are doing but all they want is your money and lots of it.

Finding the best Web Hosting Company

What is the best invention this century? Of course it is the super information highway – the Internet. What an amazing piece of technology, it connects people from around the world and allows people to learn and communicate. It is basically the biggest multimedia library in the world and it is free! What more could you want? If you like communicating then the internet was made for you. The internet is a world wide phenomenon that has been in the headlines since it first began. There has been lots of stuff written about the good and the bad aspects of the net but everything in life has a paradox so it is hardly surprising.

One of the best parts of the internet is that it is so easy to have your own space where you can share with the world your own likes dislikes etc. Maybe you are good at something and would like to share you talent with the rest of the world. Then the internet is ideal for sharing this. All you need is a bit of web hosting space and you are off. You don’t even need any website or designing skills; you can use Microsoft Word or any publishing software and create you website like any other document. As long as you can use a computer and am willing to learn a little it really is easy.

People do seem to get confused when it comes to domain names and web hosting. So what are they? Well to have a website on the internet the first thing you need to buy is your domain name, this is the www. Mysite.com part. Then you need “web hosting” which is paying for a company to store you website on their server. A server is a computer that is on all the time that “hosts” your website, in other words stores the website. You can make your own computer become a server but then for people to view your website at all times this needs to be on all the time, which is why most people use a hosting company. You pay them to make sure the site is online at all times.

Not sure which web hosting company should you go for? There are hundreds and all trying to get your business. You need to work out which company is offering the most and at what price. Not all companies offer telephone support. This is a must for any novice and is most important, you want to be able to pick up the phone and ask for help when needed. You want the option to upgrade your storage space. You may only want a small site initially but if your site does well and you need more space you want to easily upgrade. You may also need extra bandwidth when your site gets more hits.

You may want even more, like a content management system which allows you to simple add, edit and delete your own content without any knowledge of html, php or any programming language. All you see is a nice user friendly interface with simple usability. At a fee some companies offer this software and it is a great and fast way of adding content to your website.

Maybe you want to sell products over the internet which will mean you will need an ecommerce website with a shopping trolley feature. This is all very good if you have the programming skills necessary to create this, but few of us do in reality. So to have this feature we need to pay for this. Some web design companies offer this although the price can vary.

So what happens once you have your eCommerce website with shopping trolley facilities and you have the hosting you seem all set but your getting few visitors. You may be wondering why no one is actually viewing your site. Well this is because of the vast amount of websites and competition out there. Site engine optimsation is a full time job in its self, I know I do it! You can pay a company or someone to do all the hard work for you but it takes times and the results may not be instant.

Finding a hosting company that offers all these things is a tough task. There are some though. A company that offers domain registration, web hosting, web design, optimization, 24/7 customer support and email is the ideal company.

Anyone Can Be An SEO Expert

Anyone Can Be An SEO Expert
By Joshua Spaulding

There are a few things that you can do that rarely change when it comes to SEO. If you consistently do these things you will notice a good rise in your SE rankings. The two most important things you can do are having a title tag and description tag on each individual page and to make them unique for each page. This means you should not use the same title and description for every page on your site.

The Meta keyword tags used to be important but any SEO expert will now tell you that they do not matter. It is not a bad idea to go ahead and include the keyword Meta tag into your code though. Just do not over do it, include your main keyword and a few other good relevant keywords.

Another thing you can do that will help your site out and aid in avoiding the outsource of an SEO expert is to use bold and underline tags in the main body of each page. The idea behind this is that you are showing the SE spiders that these words are more important and they should hold more weight than other words. Do not overdo it but use a couple bold tags and an underline tag once or twice in each page for your main keywords.

Develop a good linking strategy and go by it. We all know that obtaining quality links to your site is important but many people do not take enough action. Find quality relevant websites and ask for a link exchange. Create a schedule that you can stick with and do not steer away from it. Try to mix your linking techniques with reciprocal, triangular and one-way. It is always better to have a mixture of them all than a lot of one in particular.

If you want to invest a lot of hard earned money in a SEO expert go ahead but think about a few things before you do. If this person is such a guru why are they not making millions of dollars with their personal websites? If all of the little things that these experts know is so important then why are there so many successful websites out there built by those of us just doing the basic things stated above?

I have been seeing great results from the SE’s just by doing these basic things and I have never outsourced an SEO expert.
